Good Carbs Vs. Bad Carbs:

Those seeking answers on How to Lose Weight Fast will be very interested to know that some carbohydrates are actually okay. In past posts we have talked at length about the negative effects of sugars and high fructose corn syrup. In this discussion I would like to focus on carbohydrates, complex carbohydrates in specific.  As I am sure you have already read, there are two types of carbohydrates in our diets. The first are the sugars, otherwise known as simple carbohydrates. The other are complex carbohydrates known as starches. Those who are looking to Lose Weight Fast must understand that there is a huge difference between simple and complex carbohydrates. The simple carbohydrates (sugars) must be avoided if you want to lose weight. On the other hand, starch in small amounts is okay to have in your diet, given you eat them at the right time. Naturally, the next question becomes, what foods have starch in them? Foods like bread, wheat, pasta, cereal, grains, flour, etc. all contain high amounts of starch. Now, obviously you can’t eat pasta three times a day and expect to lose weight. However, you can eat a half of a bagel, and English muffin, a small bowl of grain cereal in the morning if you have them in small amounts. The only caviat this diet is you must include protein with your morning meal. The reasoning behind this diet is, eating starch in the morning has a tendency to kick-start your metabolism so that you end up burning more calories throughout the entire day. Because of this, your body will easily burn the starch you ate at breakfast, plus burn fat! Starches should be tapered off in the afternoon and avoided in the evening. This way your body isn’t full of carbohydrates in the evening when you are at rest, when it is easily stored as fat. This is by far the easiest and most effective way to Lose Weight Fast. As stated in earlier posts, drinking lots of water is the key to allowing your metabolism to run as fast as possible, and properly digest all of the food you are eating.

The good part is, following this diet is quite easy because you do not have to starve yourself of the foods you love! If your weakness is Italian food, you can still have pastas in reasonable amounts. If your weakness is Chinese food or Asian food (mine is), you can still enjoy a bowl of Pad Thai now and then. The key to this diet is not some crazy trend that is unreasonable to follow in the average person’s life. The key to this diet is eating the right foods at the right time and letting your metabolism do the hard work of burning those unwanted pounds. The Diet that actually works is No Diet at All!!




Today's discussion on How to Lose Weight Fast will focus on that dreaded word that causes most of us to cringe after we hear it, the word “Diet.” If you’re in the business to Lose Weight Fast, you have definitely thought long and hard about what diet to adopt. There’s The Atkins diet, The South Beach Diet, The Vegan-Type diet, The Paleo diet, and about 17,000 other diets out there with really cool names. Which one is right for you? Which one will work the fastest? Which one doesn’t taste bad? Which one is actually good for your body? I ask this because the Atkins diet says 20 pieces of Bacon a day is okay, but I’d love to hear your doctors’ opinion to that statement. Clogging up your arteries with plaque is not exactly what the average person is looking for when trying to Lose Weight Fast. The South Beach Diet is apparently the diet that everyone in South Beach is on, yet there seems to be a lot of variation on what that diet actually consists of. Then there’s the vegetarian/vegan diet, which is very uninspiring, and arguably very unhealthy due to inevitable lack of protein intake. The truth is, we all end up spending a lot of money and wasting a lot of time bouncing between all these diets, with little results to show for it. So here it is, the answer all of us wanting to Lose Weight Fast have been looking for. The Diet that actually works is no diet at all. That’s right, its not a diet, the answer is a life changing decision to alter what you eat and follow a few simple rules. The best part, you can still eat the foods you love once per week and in REASONABLE amounts. I’ll let you in on one of the rules right now. It may seem like a shocker, but rule #1 says the sugars got go! That’s right, the sugary soft drinks, candy, “naturally sweetened” stuff is out! And when I mentioned you can still eat the foods you love, I meant it! If you are a pasta junky, that’s okay, Once a week you can enjoy a bowl of pasta for lunch. If pie is you thing, one a week you can eat a slice of your favorite pie. But rule number one says cut out the sugars the rest of the week. This is important because your body will always conform to the majority of your diet, not the minority of your diet. Water vs. Non-Water: What’s the Difference?


Those in the quest to Lose Weight Fast have been reading about the diet and lifestyle changes explained in our previous posts. Todays post will focus on the topic of hydration, and the ways in which some of you try to cheat their way around the topic of drinking water. As we all know, hydration simply means constant water intake to allow our bodies to run like they’re designed to. Think of it like keeping good clean oil in your engine. For our bodies to run correctly we need a constant supply of good clean water to allow all the bodies functions to work properly. The deal is, soft drink and sports drink companies have trained us to constantly drink sweet and flavorful liquids producing enormous profits. Those concerned with sugar intake often choose the “diet” or “zero-calorie” drinks that taste almost the same and give you an alternative that still contains that sweet stimulating flavor. The problem lye’s in the fact of those diet drinks that contain little to no calories are still packed with chemicals that create the flavor even thought those specific chemicals may not contain any calories used for metabolism. Because there are these large amounts of organic chemicals in the drinks, they are still not as hydrating as pure water, because your body has to try to digest all the chemicals we ingest. When you add up all these facts, your body cannot burn fat efficiently to Lose Weight belly fat when its not hydrated well. Recall from previous posts, hydration is the key to getting your body running as efficiently as possible which really helps us Lose Weight Fast!! Also, the idea that we always need to drink liquids that are extremely sweet and salty is not very good conditioning for your body. 
By drinking sweet liquids every time you’re thirsty, you are training your body that your taste buds must always be stimulated to get satisfied. Instead, why not enjoy the natural hydration effect of pure water and let your body adjust to benefits and pleasures of proper liquid intake. After all, our bodies are designed for water intake, not cola intake. Because of this, your body will quickly adjust back to enjoying water once you switch back to drinking water from sodas and sports drinks. High Fructose Corn Syrup Discussion

Now I’m not referring to carbohydrates in general, but I am referring to soft drinks, candy, and sweets in general. It is extremely hard to find food these days (especially processed foods), that are not chalked full of sweeteners, in specific High Fructose Corn Syrup. High fructose corn syrup, aka HFCS, is the worst of all the sugars in terms of the amount of pounds we pack on when it is included in our diets. Now, there are plenty of scientific studies out there that show the science behind this fact, and for most of us that don’t understand the technical stuff, that’s Okay. The simple fact remains that we all need to avoid HFCS like the plague!! There does seem to be a bit of confusion out there regarding fructose in which the question becomes, if HFCS is bad for me then can I still eat foods containing fructose? The answer is of course Yes!! As we all know fructose is a naturally occurring sugar found in many fruits. The difference is the form fructose is in when produced by plants. You see plants have been producing fructose in a very specific form for millions of years, and the entire animal kingdom have adapted to this type of sugar. HFCS is a different form of fructose that our bodies aren’t used to, and digests the fructose the best it can. The problem is, large quantities of fructose is what causes your body to turn on the “Fat-Storage Switch”, requisitioning all your metabolisms resources to store as much fat as possible. Our bodies are programmed for this and there’s no way around it. This effect of fat storage is very useful for survival in the animal kingdom, not so useful for the overweight-conscious crowd. However, this is not a rant on how bad carbohydrates in general are, in-fact carbs can be used to your benefit when trying to Lose Weight Fast if taken in the right way, right time, and right amounts. This IS a rant on HFCS however, and if you want to Lose Weight Fast you must cut out all the sugars!! You must gain the self-control and be able to say NO to candy bars and the worst of them all, Soft Drinks. Even foods like yogurt, which I’m sure your doctor or trainer have told you are high in protein and must be included in your diet, are packed with HFCS.



Have you ever looked through the yogurt isle of your local supermarket and looked at the label on the yogurt containers? I have and believe me, all of them say “Low-Fat” or “Non-Fat” on the label. Ironically, who cares about how much fat it contains? HFCS is the enemy and 98% of the yogurt isle is full of HFCS. It may take you a few minutes, but its well worth finding the lowest sugar content in all your foods if you want to know How to Lose Weight Fast.
